Add a Watermark to Images

Stamp your name or logo across one photo or a whole folder, free, with the work done by your browser instead of somebody's upload queue. Choose a discreet corner mark or a tiled diagonal pattern, tune the opacity, and batch mode hands the finished set back as a single zip.

How it works

  1. Add one photo or select a whole batch.
  2. Enter watermark text or load a logo image with transparency.
  3. Pick placement - corner, center, or tiled diagonally across the frame - and set opacity and size.
  4. Export; batch runs are packaged into a zip so you download everything in one click.

Worth knowing

Where you place a watermark determines how much protection it actually buys. A small corner mark is trivially defeated: modern inpainting tools reconstruct an isolated corner in seconds because the surrounding area tells them exactly what should be there. A watermark tiled diagonally across the entire frame is a different proposition - the repeating mark crosses faces, products and textured detail, so removing it means reconstructing the subject itself, which fails visibly far more often. If deterrence is the goal, tile; reserve the corner mark for polite attribution.

Opacity is the other half of the trade-off. A mark at 15 to 30 percent opacity signals ownership while leaving the photograph enjoyable; heavier opacities read as hostile and can hurt engagement when the images are meant to attract clients. A useful compromise for photographers sharing proofs: a tiled mark at low opacity across the frame, plus one clearer mark near the subject.

Batch mode is where this tool earns its keep. Apply one watermark configuration - same text or logo, same placement, same opacity - to dozens of images in a single run, and the results arrive as one zip file rather than a click-per-photo download marathon. Consistency across a set matters, too: a mark that wanders between corners from photo to photo looks careless in a portfolio.

One caution before you watermark everything you own: the major marketplaces explicitly prohibit watermarks on product listing photos - Amazon, eBay and Etsy all reject or suppress marked listing images. Watermark the copies you share on social media and portfolio sites, and keep listing photos clean.

An isolated corner logo can be inpainted away in seconds, but a diagonal tile that repeats across faces and product detail forces any removal tool to reconstruct the subject itself - which is why tiled marks survive where corner marks vanish.

Verify it yourself: open your browser's DevTools, switch to the Network tab, and use this tool — you will see no upload request. Or load the page, go offline, and it still works.

What this tool will not do

  • It will not make theft impossible - a watermark is a deterrent and an ownership signal, not DRM.
  • It will not make a marked photo acceptable as a marketplace listing image; Amazon, eBay and Etsy prohibit watermarks on product photos.
  • It watermarks still images only - no video overlays.

Questions people ask

How do I watermark many photos at once?

Switch to batch mode, load the set, configure the mark once, and run. Every image gets the identical watermark and the output arrives as a single zip.

What opacity should a watermark be?

Around 15 to 30 percent for marks meant to coexist with the photo; higher only for proofs you actively want to be unusable until purchased.

Is a corner watermark or a tiled watermark better?

Corner for attribution, tiled for protection. A corner mark is easy to erase with inpainting; a diagonal tile across the subject is genuinely hard to remove cleanly.

Can watermarks be removed?

Sometimes - isolated marks over plain areas are the easiest targets. Tiling across detailed regions raises the difficulty substantially, but no mark is absolutely permanent.

Can I use my logo as the watermark?

Yes - load a PNG with a transparent background and the logo composites cleanly at whatever size and opacity you set.

Should I watermark my product listing photos?

No. The big marketplaces prohibit watermarks on listing images. Mark the versions you post elsewhere, and submit clean photos to the marketplace.
